@nx/angular:application

Creates an Angular application.

Examples

Create an application named my-app:

1nx g @nx/angular:application apps/my-app 2

Usage

1nx generate application ... 2
1nx g app ... #same 2

By default, Nx will search for application in the default collection provisioned in workspace.json.

You can specify the collection explicitly as follows:

1nx g @nx/angular:application ... 2

Show what will be generated without writing to disk:

1nx g application ... --dry-run 2

Options

The directory of the new application.

bundler

Accepted values: esbuild, rspack, webpack

Bundler to use to build the application.

name

Pattern: ^[a-zA-Z][^:]*$

The name of the application.

routing

boolean
Default: true

Enable routing for the application.

standalone

boolean
Default: true

Generate an application that is setup to use standalone components.

addTailwind

boolean
Default: false

Whether to configure Tailwind CSS for the application.

backendProject

string

Backend project that provides data to this application. This sets up proxy.config.json.

e2eTestRunner

Default: playwright
Accepted values: playwright, cypress, none

Test runner to use for end to end (E2E) tests.

inlineStyle

Specifies if the style will be in the ts file.

inlineTemplate

The tool to use for running lint checks.

minimal

Generate a Angular app with a minimal setup.

prefix

The port at which the remote application should be served.

skipTests

Create an application with stricter type checking and build optimization options.

setParserOptionsProject

boolean
Default: false

Whether or not to configure the ESLint parserOptions.project option. We do not do this by default for lint performance reasons.

ssr

Default: false

Creates an application with Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and Static Site Generation (SSG/Prerendering) enabled.

serverRouting

boolean

Creates a server application using the Server Routing and App Engine APIs for application using the application builder (Developer Preview). Note: this is only supported in Angular versions 19.x.x. From Angular 20 onwards, SSR will always enable server routing when using the application builder.

tags

string

Add tags to the application (used for linting).

unitTestRunner

Test runner to use for unit tests.

viewEncapsulation

Specifies the view encapsulation strategy.
